The Sandwich Gallery is a welcome arrival to Jeddah’s Rawdah street. The small sandwich shop located in Jeddah’s new U Shape Centre (Soon to also be home to Leila, Em Sharif, and a bunch of other eateries) offers a vast array of both freshly prepared – made to order sandwiches and drinks. We tried the Beijing Sandwich here, tender cuts of beef with a sweet soy dressing, toasted in a brioche panini, with some kale chips dusted in brown sugar, and a wonderfully refreshing Cucumber and Mint Juice served in a superb glass jar.
The attention to detail here is unique, one can see a lot has gone into the design of the interior, everything from the hanging red wired light bulbs (with in vogue exposed elements), to the brightly coloured warehouse style chairs. The walls are a mix of recycled materials, exposed wooden boards, and elements inspired by the menu. A large pin board tells a story of where all the sandwich recipes originate from, each sandwich is named after a city, a nice idea; one which makes it easy to remember your favourite sandwich.
As if that’s not enough they do a lovely selection of desserts, the French Toast was on par with that of Amara‘s if not better. Seating is available for both families and singles, with moveable partitions dividing up the store, with more space than Toasted; and a more lively atmosphere, this is sure to be a hit with Kids and Adults alike.
