Situated in Aziziyah District near the International Indian School Jeddah,Girls Section,Royal Plaza has been around for the last 4 years. This place is not known for the Over the top ambiance but rather the food , which is finger licking good. Although predominantly serving a wide range of North Indian food, Royal Plaza also serves some South Indian delicacies like Dosa’s and Appams.
I have been eating there since its inception and can say never had a problem , The place is clean and hygienic ,the food is on time and tastes good.I must warn though its not for the fainthearted, the food is spicy and its probably better to consult the waiter before you order. Its definitely worth a visit if you are into Indian food but I must warn you, you can get hooked onto the food like the others I have taken there.
They also have a family section.Rest assured unlike the other high end Indian Restaurants in town, this one will not put a heavy dent on your pocket and is relatively economical when it comes to prices.

I would like to thank Jeddahfood.com and the Food critics who reviewed Royal Plaza. I stay nearby but had never returned after a very odd experience in Royal Plaza many years ago.
Last week however after reading rave reviews on the website I ventured to Royal Plaza and was pleased that the reviews did not disappoint.
The food was hot and spicy as savored by some of us from the Indian subcontinent who like their food “SPICY”.
The restaurant itself was clean and the service prompt and attentive.
We tried the Chicken Chilli Dosa which was a nice variant of the Dosas and the Chicken Tikka Masala awakened long dead taste buds from eating bland food in many of the restaurants here.
The Masala Kulcha also proved that there’s a smart chef in Royal Plaza who is creative in his experiments and sure of his creations.
Kids had some nice Carrot sweet and Gulab Jamun post dinner to complete a filling meal.
We look forward to visit again to try the other creations since the Menu read of a long list of items – more than other restaurants I’ve seen so far in this price range.
Once again thanks to Jeddahfood.com – next week I plan to visit India Gate to celebrate my wedding anniversary.
mr/mrs aka..first of all there is no question of being right or wrong..can u change sumone’s taste buds just becz urs are used to savouring wat sumone didnt like??
btw ..ur visiting jeddah only to eat our at this place..and calling it coslty too..that made me laugh out loud..its funny i dont think anyone would agree to that ..cz the place is reasonably chaep..and one of the reasons why it is visited so much by expats too.
as far as suggesting a doctor as to wat he/she should take..think twice dear.we have the degree already isnt it and we might be just knowing a bit better than others .
thanx
ME and a host of other celebrities couldnt be wrong. This ones rated one of the best restaurants in the JEDDAH
THE BEST INDIAN FOOD IN THE WORLD….I TRAVEL TO JEDDAH ONLY TO EAT THE FOOD AT THIS RESTAURANT. BIT COSTLY BUT ITS WORTH IT. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE !!
Dr HASAN you need to take a chill pill and buy some zuccunis
talk about the great tasting food here!!well i am brought to tears by the amount of chilli they are using.how can one go on to relish food when its so filled with just one falvour that’s hot!!and the waiters!!is nobody bothered that the customers are getting impatient ..we had to literally serve ourselves.sometimes the waiters forget to give u everything you order..sometimes they leave the chutneys out while serving the dosas…
Dr Hasan,
This is Indian Food, its meant to be hot. If you cannot handle or savour spices then my dear friend this restaurant is not for you. This a hard core Indian restaurant. You need to take the tissues out with you. Sorry but everyone else who tried the food there loved it except you. If you savour something less spicy then you should go to Shezan.
dear zk…i hope u know that i am an indian too ..and not all indians are hard core chilli lovers..the resturaunts are meant fr one and all..so they should cater like wise..otherwise..mention in broad letters that everything is sooo chilllied already.
thanx fr the shezan suggestion anyways
Good One
need to chek ur taste buds buddy
Since there is already a couple of reviews that has been posted for Non-Veg and since i was pretty satisfied after trying it,I decided to try out their Vegetarian section this time.
We went out for a lunch last week.while flipping through the pages in search of something in Veg, Our eye-ball showed us the red signal on something named “Thali”
Belive it, it was a complete thriller for an unbelivable price.
Anchor of the meal, is a pile of STEAMED RICE AND A PAPADAM (a crunchy wafer that begins your thali experience.)
It also includes RASAM (a spicy lentil soup that you can sip or eat with your papadam / Rice)
SAMBAR (classic South Indian stew, which is a mixture of so many vegetables and daal etc. Pour this onto your rice and eat them together.)
You’ll also find a COUPLE OF VEGETABLE DISHES. This is where thali typically varies the most it could include Bitter Gourd fry,Cabbage dish, onions, among thousands of other options. As far as my knowldge the dishes changes every day.
And you’ll also find CURD (YOGHURT) and a DESSERT (Payasam, Gulab jamun etc).
Usually in a thali we will find “pickle” Unfortunately over here I never found one…..Strange
While there’s nothing wrong with eating your thali with a fork or spoon (indeed, my sister eats that way…
but true enjoyment is said to come only when one eats with one’s (OWN) hand.
Don’t be fooled by the small portion sizes of each element on your thali—there are so many that you’ll usually find the meal quite filling. One of the traditional appeals of the small portions is nothing goes to waste, but if you are still hungry, you can ask for more of any specific dish. And the waiters are always there to get you more.
If this all sounds like a complicated and fussy way of eating, don’t worry—enjoying thali is first and foremost a pleasure. And the arrival of this cuisine on our shores is cause for celebration. Find it and dig in!
Along with the thali they provide either fish curry or fish fry. Fish curry tastes really Awesome (since i tried fish curry) but if you are a hardcore veggie you can always tell the waiter to exclude that item for you……..
In a nutshell excellent meal which never ruins your pocket.
I have tried their “Hyderabadi Dum mutton Biriyani” before and it simply superb….
For all the hard core Veggies/Non -Veggies/South indian food lovers “THALI” is a must TRY……
Thanks so much for this review! I thought that I have to give up my search to find a good Indian restaurant with all that vegetarian stuff, at last, finally!
I tried their special paper thin Dosa Masala, heaven! the sauces… wow! and the butter chicken, that gravy gets you hooked! Butter Naan, so tasty… and Masala Tea, omg! A new addiction has come its way and I think I will need to consult my therapist soon!!!
Really, anyone who likes Indian food, try it there. They even have valet parking!!!
Good food.” real Indian taste” just loved it; will like revisit it.
