Rossopomodoro Jeddah has reopened in the Ascott Centre on Jeddah’s Sari Street. Bigger and better, the new interior boasts an impressive ‘living wall’ along with a colourful interior that wouldnt look out of place in London’s Covent Garden. Not surprising really, as Rossompodoro is an international chain with branches worldwide in England & Spain – to name a few. Kid Friendly, with highchairs readily available, the open plan interior is definitely going to be a hit with families.
The Kitchen is open plan, and one can watch the chef at work behind glass windows in the restaurant, also on view is the gold mosiac tiled wood fired oven, and here watching the pizza’s being freshly prepared is something both kids and adults will definitely enjoy. If that’s not enough the pasta is also freshly prepared in the centre of the restaurant and the staff were happy to let us watch (And film) them churning out some fresh tagliatelle -(Ed: video on instagram @jeddahfood ).
We were happy to see the menu at Rossopomodoro hasn’t changed much, ordering the Organica Margherita with buffalo mozzarella, and the Aubergine ‘Mienese’ pizza’s to go. We also tried their Apple and Walnut ‘Salad’ which was tasty but the lettuce a bit too soggy by the time we got home, would have preffered the dressing on the side so we could mix it in ourselves once back at the house.
The pizza’s were perfect, as we remember, their wood fired oven seems to make the perfect pizza, and if our memory serves us correctly the pizza’s taste even better that those at their old location, which used to get a bit too soggy when ‘taken out’. Here the dough seemed thicker, either way, we were left wanting more after we finished off the two pizzas. Will certainly be back soon to Rossopomodoro Jeddah!Read more
