Le Mall (Al Tahlia St.)

PF Chang’s- Chinese Bistro is the latest Chinese restaurant to hit our palates in Jeddah… and what an entry it has made! An Americanised version of Chinese food, spending an evening there for an early dinner was definitely a pleasure! Located in the most talked-about location these days, Le Mall, Tahlia Street, it took us a while to find a parking spot before we settled in into our booth.

What strikes us most about these six new restaurants that have opened up, is their exceptional service. From the second you step in, till the time you leave, you will be floored with courteous and thoughtful staff, and they genuinely make you feel like you deserve to be treated like royalty! Moreover, the staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and help you to make an informed choice about your food.

Contrary to how it looks from the outside, PF Changs Jeddah has a very large seating capacity, spread out in different wings. The interiors are very contemporary and modern, with splashes of Oriental décor. As you go through the menu, it becomes very clear that the food here is a blend of authentic Chinese and American tastes. We started by ordering the very popular Dynamite shrimps (SR 55), served in cocktail glasses, which could be seen on almost every other table, and the Sichuan Chicken flatbread (SR 38). The shrimps were slightly spicy, 10 pieces per serving, and definitely worth and recommendation, as were the quesadilla-inspired chicken flatbreads, served with cole slaw and a spicy sauce.

For the main course, we kept our orders relatively simple, as we were pretty filled up from the appetisers. My beef-loving husband ordered the Mongolian beef, and I ordered the Chang’s Spicy Chicken. All entrees come with a side of rice- brown or white, and so we didn’t feel the need to order extra rice or noodles, but have heard their praises from friends. Both of our dishes were absolutely, lip-smackingly delicious! Although the prices were on the higher side (SR 65 for the Chicken and SR 85 for the beef), when the food tastes this delicious, you don’t really mind paying for the quality.

Surprisingly, contrary to what we thought, we still had some room for dessert, so we ordered the Banana Spring rolls, which were so good that I don’t have words to describe them!!! They just need to be tried to be believed! So definitely give PF Chang’s Jeddah a try! It is a bit on the pricey side, but you will definitely get your money’s worth, and have the satisfaction of a high-quality dining experience!
