Nestled inside Serafi mega mall, on the ground floor, is Mugg and Bean. Originating from south Africa Mugg and bean serves a variety of foods, ranging from steak,to lasagna,to sandwiches,as well as a large variety of pies and giant cookies. Each meal has a very home cooked healthy flair to them, usually served with a side of vegetables,or vegetables included inside, all for an extremely competitive price
My personal favorite is the “Santa fe steak” an amazing grilled steak with your choice of pepper or mushroom sauce, vegetables and wedges on the side. The meat is tender and cooked to perfection (i usually ask for medium well, and so far mugg and bean is the ONLY place i have been to in Jeddah that actually does it right consistently). The pepper sauce is delicious, and the whole meal extremely satisfying and filling for one person. I had to have my leftovers packed for take away! All this for only 38 riyals.
Another favorite is the lasagna. Usually picky about lasagna in restaurants i have found mugg and bean to have the most perfect lasagna. It tastes very similar to a home made hearty lasagna.
It is also a perfect place to come for breakfast with an extensive and elaborate breakfast menu as well as Unlimited coffee refills. The decor is very cosy and intimate, and the waiters are my favorite in all of jeddahs restaurants. Friendly, and punctual.
Everything i have tried on the menu has satisfied and i have never left mugg and bean feeling disappointed! Perfect place to relax after a long day of shopping, or even to start your day.

Thanx
I was looking forward to going to Mugg and Bean for breakfast with my husband. So we planned on going on a Friday morning. When we arrived we had to wait for 5-10 minutes to get a menu. Then I tried to order pancakes and they said they didn’t have any. What?? Seriously, if they are a breakfast place, how do they not have pancakes?? It shouldn’t be on the menu if they don’t offer it. Also Danube is right next door. Why don’t they walk over and buy a box of pancake mix. Very frustrating, wouldn’t recommend.
If you are out for a great-tasting food that fully gratifies the stomach without leaving a dent on your wallet, Mugg & Bean is definitely the place to be.
Situated at the ground floor of Serafi Megamall, Mugg & Bean boasts of a mouth-watering array of great dishes to choose from. Be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, it offers great food for any time of the day that is sure to satisfy even the pickiest of taste buds.
As you go inside the restaurant, a warm welcome smile from arguably the friendliest service crews in town meets you as if saying you are in good hands. The cozy atmosphere coupled with a soothing music is certain to make you feel so relaxed, as if you were in the comfort of your own home.
Once seated, you are handed a menu by a smiling crew. The menu, which features pixelized versions of some of their luscious dishes, gives your stomach more reason to grumble. After you place your orders, you have to wait for 10 to 20 minutes before they are served. The wait is definitely worth it as the food is dished out hot and fresh.
For the starter, the Thai Beef Salad is highly recommended. It is a mixture of lettuce, red bell pepper, cucumber, pineapple, bread sticks and grilled beef slices matched with a slightly chilly dressing. The beef slices are grilled to perfection and are so yummy. The letdown though is the beef pieces are just a few. But still there is no other way to set the mood for the food attack than by this salad.
Served in a hot plate with mashed potato or rice and mayonnaise on the side, their Hamour fillet dish is perfect for the main course. Reasonably priced at SR41, the serving is already good for two. What’s more, you get a free cup of equally delicious soup of your choice for every order.
A plate of nachos, quesadilla, chicken nuggets and BBQ chicken wings with white cheese, guacamole and salsa for dips, the Fiesta Platter surely lives up to its name. The cheesy quesadilla is as heavenly as nachos dipped in white cheese. The chicken nuggets are deliciously tender while the BBQ chicken wings are delectably juicy to the bones. This platter is just perfect for finger food trip.
Their Lasagna is a must-try. It has got to be the best tasting lasagna my taste buds have ever feasted on! Served hot with a generous amount of cheese, it is reason enough to pay this restaurant a visit. It is just sinfully delicious.
For dessert, their brownies served with vanilla ice cream and presentably laced with chocolate syrup is the best way to cap a wonderful dining experience.
With reasonably-priced dishes that are sure to satisfy the taste buds coupled with a relaxing ambiance and friendly service crews, every riyal spent on Mugg & Bean is definitely a riyal well spent.
We love Mugg & Bean and always go for breakfast, they do scramble eggs the best!!! soft & fluffy. Also love their Asian steak salad, the meat is so tender and the dressing you can’t get enough of with bread sticks and always fresh greens. I really admire their consistency in service too. Only thing is that they need to open another branch in a nicer more convenient spot!
I liked mugs and bean…I specially liked the chicken potpie-its a fine delicacy of creamy cheese chicken, mushroom at the bottom with the covering of puff at the top..i also liked the chicken korma.they make it in an indian style and the taste is very good.
To start with the meals,i always order for a chicken cream soup and salad…
I would recommend people to have a try at this restaurant and im sure you will really have a nice time here….
I went there once, robably summer of 05 when they opened or so. And it wasn’t a bad experience although it didn’t make me feel like visiting again. I remember having their oriental salad, was good. And I think the pasta was ok too. I had a drink with berries that was very good.
I just felt that there wan’t anything special about the place.
i have tried their cofee and cookies. i must say the cookies were fresh, and crunchy, and the coffee wasexactly to my taste as i dont like very storng coffees.
i like where mugg and bean is located, its a hassle free place in the mall, since the top floor of serafi mall is cramped with restaurants.however, mugg and bean being on the ground floor has a more enjoyable ambience.
Santa Fe Steak is also my favorite there. I’d rather go to M&B for steak than any other steakhouses. Most of their meals are affordable and the servings are enough for 2 people.
However, I’m not a fan of their strawberry/raspberry juice. It’s too sweet.
i recommend this place so much specially for Breakfast simply amazing place for single and family
i love the apple pie there ummmmmi you should try it…
I like this place so much i spend many hours and hours here, and i enjoy every moment
I must say that Mug and Bean is an excellent choice for any meal any time of day. The breakfast is grand and consists of many choices. I love their healthy breakfast in particular which consists of muesli cereals, yogurt, fruit salad, and honey. They also bake the best muffins in town, they are large in size, and they also make giant cookies. Their bakery in general is very good. The coffee is good too.
The rest of the menu is very good, I love their chicken salad and Thai beef salad. They also serve great sandwiches, their BLT is the best. All and all, it is a great little restaurant with one of the most friendly service crew you would find in town.
