I love pizza. Its one of those foods that span nationalities and tastes with its flexibility. So its a damn shame when a food as versatile as pizza is almost confined here in Jeddah to the big three of assembly line pizza (Papa Johns, Dominos and Pizza Hut in descending order of quality) and a few fancy Italian restaurants. Which is why its a nice breath of fresh air for casual dining that places like Lenuos Cafe exist. Nestled a few blocks after Chilis and away from the main road is this little pizzeria that I found by complete accident.

The first thing youll notice (apart from the solitude, which may or may not turn you away) is their claim of using olive wood in their ovens. I havent actually checked if the wood they’re using to bake their pizzas and calzones is olive or not, but the end result does taste good. The next thing you’ll notice are the ingredients. Away from the hegemony of pepperoni, sausage, chicken and (shudder) pineapple you’ll find some refreshingly unique toppings. Artichokes, zucchinis, eggplants, anchovies and Nutella (!!) caught my eyes. I’m not a vegetarian by any stretch of the word but I have to say the zucchinis and eggplants pizza is my favorite. And the attention to quality goes to the rest of the ingredients.

So is this the best casual pizzeria in Jeddah? Quite possibly.

Overall I would say it is an average place (but definitely better than Fast Food Pizza Joints).

Seating in the terrace was nice, but spoiled by the “polite” horn-honking drivers.

Waiter was a bit annoying as he was “in our faces” throughout the meal.

The appetizer (Focaccia) was a real disappointment; a thin chewy very garlicky pizza bread trying to resemble Focaccia! The Zucchini & Eggplant (Siciliana) pizza and the Mushroom (Funghi) pizza were very light, made with fresh ingredients, but were not that much flavorful. The dessert was acceptable; a bi-folded pizza bread with Tahina in the inner layer & Nutella on the outer layer.

I will try other pizzerias in Jeddah before I return to this one.

tried the chicken ‘Diablo’ pizza here today, really quite good…definitely beats the mainstream ‘fast food’ pizza places, and the prices are still reasonable compared to the more recent ‘gourmet’ arrivals in town..

u mite want to consider changin your map location of the restuarant.
its in the road between friday’s and rubey tuesday’s, close to the sea. (maadey street)
its not wer the map points it to be. and i learned it that hard way, thank you very much.
i went ther for my birthday wid 4 of my friends. the pizzas wer good. some of them where awesome, lik the turkey pizza. and sum wern’t, i mean, they had frankfurter slices on the pizza. funny thing is the best pizza is also the cheapest ther.
I really didn’t find the ‘whole place is empty’ thing, that appealing, like some others. one coudnt talk and hav fun ther, cuz it wud break the eerie silence of the whole place.
its beautifully decorated, comfortable. the staff was really wierd.. they’d loom around us .. a lot!. the attendant was not really good at english to say the least. and he must hav been really tired wth no customers and evrything, he coudn’t respond to us real quickly.
in short. not in my ‘top 10′ for sure

the food is extremly fabolous!!! the taste is really nice and the best thing is the calm and relaxing atmosphere away from the traffic jams and noises. also , the location is very near to the sea (50 meters from the beach).
the menu is extensive and has a lot of variaties.
since i live in AlHamra, this became my best friend :) every day i order something new for a change . i even started having my busniss dinners and meals in this restaurant.
the price is very very reasonable … a large peparoni pizza for 38 SAR… this is very tempting!

    I’ll save everybody the trouble.
Yes, this is the best pizza joint in Jeddah, I’ve been going to this venue nearly every week for lunch in the past 3 years (since it’s old location existed)
here are the best items on the menu.

    1. Fried Calamari
    2. Fried Shrimp Salad
    3. Steamed Shrimp Salad
    4. Pepperoni Diablo pizza (spicy)
    5. Di Roma pizza (Ground beef & green peppers)
    6. Chicken Pesto pizza
    7. Nutella w/ Halawa Tahiniya

I believe that this is the most underrated restaurant in Jeddah, and while they have their bad days and sometimes shortages of items on the menu, there are very few places that can deliver the taste and variety when it comes to a casual italian dining experience.
    Don’t miss out!

being one of my personal best places to go to i always opt for the seafood options there.
i always order the calamari as an entree, then the seafood linguini and the red fettucini and pizza viagrato. you can never go wrong with any seafood pasta there as i tried all of them.
the thing that makes pizza lenuo stand out is that there prices are cheap considering the quality and taste of the food.

Hands down the greatest pizza place in all of Saudi Arabia. Their Margarita and Chicken Pesto pizzas are all I get. Simply the best. Don’t forget to finish the night off with the a Lenuo Chocolate Special or their savory Nutella Pizza. I’m hungry now…

though I love Italian food (not just pizza). This is by Far the best in Jeddah (as a combination), Great Tomato soup.

They have the best fried calamari with the best calamari dipping sauces EVER. this is a MUST order then they have average to above average Caprise salad (slices Tomatoes and Mozzarella cheese) (the best is in ill vilagio but 95SR :( )

any way their cream sauce for the pasta is by far the BEST in jeddah, what a great one. I love there Pennie chicken pasta with cream sauce and another MUST is the red fettuccine with shrimps and for sure the great cream or white sauce I love their pizza, many many to choose from the best prices for value you can find in Jeddah (but recently they increased their prices :( )

Reference Italian restaurants I have been
    - il Gabiano
    - Al dente
    - Chao (2 diffrent chaos)
    - Il Villaggio
    - Roma way
    - Gelato
    - Nappoli pizza

well to start the place looks like any other Italian place but the food is great,at first we started with some grilled and fried calamari and caesar salad, the calamaris were regular but the fried was better and the salad was fresh and wasn’t that bad ,the sea food linguini it was fantastic but a little bit heavy with the sauce. the penne arabiata was plain, and finally the pizza is heated in a wood oven i tried the del-mare it was great.

i wanted to try the deserts but every time i want to order I’m already full so hoping for someone to try and tell. in short lenuo used to be near chili’s but the problem there was the space ,now they moved a little bit further away so its a little bit far but they certainly solved the space problem so if you would like to have some good Italian without damaging your wallet this is a good choice.

i tied lenuos with a couple of my tennis buddies december last year. we ordered two thin-crust pizzas – one with beef and italian cold cuts and the other mixed seafood, baked in a wood-fired oven, we were informed. the singles area was small, and a little dark, but the service was reasonably fast. the pizzas came hot, fresh and lightly crunchy. recommendable to all who’s looking for a welcome break from the usual slew of commercial pizza places!

the waiter also informed us that they were relocating soon at a new place along falasteen near andalus street, as the place they were in will be renovated by the landlord into a commercial bldg. let’s see, hopefully in a better-looking spot!
