Nestled right in the heart of Al Hamra District of Jeddah on Arafat Street is Le Vendome Patisserie’s second recently opened branch. Clean, uncluttered and minimalistic, the store’s design is reminiscent of Le Vendome’s main branch on Malik Road. Featuring beautiful photos of Parisian streets it magically transports its customer’s imagination to those chilly spring mornings or sunny summer afternoons in the street cafes in Paris, with delicious French pastries sitting right next to your cafe-au-lait and tickling all of your senses. And that is definitely what Le Vendome’s confections are all about – delighting your taste buds with their mouth-watering flavours and pleasing your eyes with their unique and innovative presentation.
With such variety on the menu, including sweet and savoury confections, croissants, éclairs, fruit tarts, canapés, mini pies and much more Le Vendome will surely satisfy all of their customers’ tastes. However Le Vendome’s piece de resistance has to be their recently launched line of Signature Cupcakes and Cakes. Le Vendome’s cupcakes are currently coming in 9 flavours, most of them unique to Jeddah, including Chocolate Mint After Eight, Ferrero Rocher and Pina Colada. Being baked from fresh natural ingredients – eggs, and butter, and fresh fruit, and chocolate, you could immediately taste the difference in the first bite – it’s all natural, moist, unlike any other cupcake in town! And the cupcakes look like little masterpieces too, each decorated in a distinct and unique way. And then there’s “ Josephine”, Le Vendome’s new signature cake, a light and summery creation of moist vanilla and lemon cake, with moussline cream and raspberry preserve, beautifully decorated with fresh roses and berries. “Josephine” comes in different sizes, available on order in 1, 2, or 3-tier design, and is perfect for any celebration – a birthday party, anniversary, an engagement or a summer wedding!
Le Vendome has recently launched a Cake Decoration Studio, where their award-winning Cake Designer creates unique and beautiful cakes for all of their customers’ special occasions. Cakes shaped like fish or flower pots, delicate sugar flowers, princesses and monsters are just a few styles that are on offer. Both showrooms have catalogues of their decorated cakes that you can choose from, and Mrs. Marina Bolisacova, the creative director of Le Vendome, is happy to give a consultation on styles and flavours of cakes available. I ordered 4 cakes from Le Vendome using a promotion from cobone for our a company event. At first I got intimidated by the look of their store it looks delicious yet expensive. However when me and my husband met their Sales Manager, all our hesitation disappeared. He is very polite, helpful and friendly. ‘Some shops’let’s admit it, that they don’t entertain some expats very well they just take their orders and that’s it. In Le Vendome (al Hamra), you really feel welcomed and feel valued whether you will buy or will just inquire. Five stars for that! We tried 3 of their delicious cakes and because of that I forgot their names but they are chocolates and other one with coconut. Anyway, tomorrow I will get my orders that is why I just gave them 4 stars for now but Im sure it will be 5 tomorrow! Looking forward to taste our orders and to see how it looks like. I am confident that everybody will love the cakes. With their fabulous cakes backed up by great staff and outstanding customer service. Now that is a TREAT! Till tomorrow! Ciao!
I tried a few of Le Vondome’s cupcakes today and I concur; they are really good. The lemon cupcake (8 SR) is flavorful, not only tangy but also cinnamony, but its only shortcoming is that it is not moist, not totally dry, but not moist enough. The second I tried was the chocolate cupcake (10 SR) topped with a piece of Ferrero Rocher coated gold, this one was smooth and moist. It would not knock your socks off, but the way it looked alone will make you fall in love at first sight. Then came the Vanilla cupcake (10 SR) and if there is one that surprised me the most, it would be this one; topped with a piece of Ferrero Raffello candy, I was prepared to enjoy plain old vanilla cupcake, and frankly I picked it because it had that piece of Raffaello which I am a sucker for, but I ended up with a cupcake with an intense flavor of ginger and coconut, and in my mind I think the salesmen there are selling it short by describing it as “vanilla”. The last one I tried was the “After 8″ mint chocolate cupcake (10 SR), which is made of a candy that is not as popular as it should be in here. This one also didn’t disappoint, although the cake itself could have used more mint flavor in my opinion.
To sum it up, Le Vondome’s cupcakes are really unique and different than Anything you’d find in other cupcake shops in Jeddah, in term of flavor and presentation. They are a little pricier than the competitors’, but totally worth it, especially for special occasions or to showoff or impress your guests or loved ones.
LeVendome, is one of the best patisseries in Jeddah, i love their Mona Lisa, Mini cupcakes, Croissant, Mini Puffs, and the Sandwich Loaf. If you are a Canapés lover, don’t miss theirs.
