Helens Kitchen is a place where one can enjoy the great taste of real home baked cakes, cookies, brownies, pies, and savories. Original recipes and fresh ingredients are used daily. The Pecan Pie here is highly recommended and one of our favourites; drop by around 7pm and there is usually a fresh batch available. Cupcakes, Cookies, Brownies, and larger cakes can also be made to order. Seating is available upstairs for families. Great for kids parties.

My taste for sweets grew up on Helen’s Bakery cakes, until they changed the Vanilla cake mix and the butter they use in the frosting. I prefer Munch Bakery and Fab Sweets.
Helen’s all i can say is the beeeeeeeeest cupcake store in Jeddah im addicted. I got to have it every Wednesday. No lie< If u havent tried it hurry.

One of the best, or perhaps the best chocolate cake in Jeddah can be had here, “Galaxy Chocolate Cake”. It is not a dense chocolate fudge cake like you would find at many place. This cake is light and the frosting is light and smooth as well, and extremely tasty. The cake is also not too sweet, and eating 2-3 slices is quite easy, so watch out! I visited several bakeries and patisseries to choose a cake for my daughter’s 2nd birthday, and this is the one I chose. It was a hit among all, young and old, mainly because of its lightness.
They also have an amazing carrot cake, which is also perhaps one of the best in Jeddah. I am talking about the full size one, called as “Tropical Carrot Cake”. I believe they do also make cup cakes of that, as well as of the the first cake I described.
So I asked the Food Critic a question which I was not planning on waiting for its answer. To adapt the famous quote from “Jerry Maguire”: (You had me at lemon cake). So after work I went straight to Helen’s to try it first hand. I got there and the shop is the same as I remember it only they had many other items than last time I was there. I picked up a pineacolada cupcake, a carrot cupacake, and a lemon cake, the cupcakes were 6 SR each while the lemon cake was 10 SR. I started with pineacolada which was petite in size, but it tasted really good, it was moist and both pineapple and coconut flavors of it were balanced. The carrot cupcake was tasty as well, not as good as the one I had from “Sam’s Cake Factory” last weekend, but good nevertheless. I finished with the main attraction, the lemon cake, and that one was marvelous. So tangy just the way I like it while the sugar frosting on the top some how balanced the sourness of it. It was also very moist, and even though its size was really generous, I wished that I have skipped the cupcakes and picked up another lemon cake instead. I am glad that I have discovered this gem, a new favorite of mine, and thankful for the Food Critic for this great recommendation.
The Pecan Pie here is fantastic, really gooey, best time to pick one up is around 7:15pm they usually have just come out of the oven… a new favourite… plus the lemon cake here is amazing..
Hmmm, lemon cakes and pecan pies?! Perhaps it’s time to pay Helen’s a visit. I was not impressed the first time, but then first impressions are overrated. So what kind of lemon cakes do they serve, cupcakes?
sorry for the delay, Helens have two types of lemon cake and both are good, the cupcake, and even more lemony (actually has rind in the cake) is the lemon cake (it looks like a small loaf of yellow bread) topped in lemon drizzle icing, this is also excellent, but they are not always available.
The lemon cakes are available everyday.
However, we don’t have lemon cupcakes anymore.
I liked: the galaxy & pina colada cakes
I didn’t like: the chocolate cake, lemon cake and the fact that pre-ordered cakes come in a standard shape not a single decoration but it’s ok.
Stopped at helen’s the other day and i had a couple of cupcakes to go and since i’m a cup cake addict, i really know how a cup cake should look and taste. The cupcake looked very disappointing like it was made by an immature baker. The taste was boring and the cake itself is a bit dry. The whole experience was horrible so my high expectations, due to the amazing exterior of the shop, fell flat.
I found it overrated it tastes exactly like every other place except the brownies are bit hard – not as chewy … Also their managers hygiene leaves alot to be desired he had a cold or something and was sneezing as he was packing the desserts – that time I just left and didnt bother to come back. there should be health and safety procedures that people follow – the least he should have been wearing is a mask and using gloves ..

okay i visited helens bakery over six times! honestly the only thing i liked was the little cinnamon cake. everything else is really not tasty… i got so excited when i saw the red velvet cheesecake but after i tried it i was extremely disappointed… not the best in town so many better bakeries….
THIS IS ONE AWESOME PLACE IF U CAN HANDLE THE TASTE ..

It servers the best cookies, carrot cake, galaxy cake, cheese cakes all flavors and cup cakes in Jeddah! Much better than Munch! their brownies are over priced SR14, i didn’t try them! they recently served muffins, but need to work on improving them!!

When I read rave reviews about Helen’s Kitchen on Jeddah Food I was curious to find out if it was worth all the hype. The bakery is open from Maghrib prayer until later hours only and is a small outlet which can easily be overlooked at the intersection of Kayyal Street and Prince Sultan Street if one does not look out for it.
When we stepped inside, the atmosphere was immediately homely and cosy. The bakery items on display did indeed look delicious but we wondered if they would taste just as good. We ordered the chocolate cake, a muffin and a tropical cake to take away, and while settling the bill took a look at the seating area inside. It really was unique. Whereas most food courts at malls are noisy and impersonal, here was a place to sit down where one might believe he or she was eating at Helen’s own home. Every detail had been paid attention to down to the decorations on the wall and the magazines on display.
Once we were home, we unpacked the goodies and I’m pleased to announce that they were some of the best cakes I’d tasted in Jeddah. They were sweet without being overpowering with a truly homemade feel. We will definitely be stopping by Helen’s Kitchen for more.

I tried the Blueberry Cheesecake last night.
It was very good. And you can actually taste that their cakes are homemade…
sorry but it is the worst bakery in Jeddah, the cakes are old tasting, dry, no flavor at all. Another example of a place trying to get famous off of the decor and not the content!
I disagree, try the lemon cake, it is soft and moist, highly recommend it! I’m a regular!

I pass by Helens shop pretty much every day,, and one day I decided to give it a try,, the lovely exterior was eye-catching and adorable,, it reminded me with small bakeries full of delicious goodies that you can see plenty of in foreign countries. However, my expectations were not fulfilled when I tried some of their goodies. I tried the chocolate-chip cookies, brownies and double chocolate-chip cookies and I didnt like any of them! They were cold, crunchy and the taste just wasnt balanced especially in their cookies it was sweet and salty at the same time!! To me a cookie should be warm, chewy and very subtle and balanced in flavors! I dont think Ill give it a second try

Nothing special about this bakarey. My wife make better cakes. It is over priced and over appreciated.
