I find it hard to believe that a restaurant like Albaik is yet to be mentioned on this ingenious website. Then again, who doesn’t know Albaik? The fact that the place is so popular that it needs no mentioning might have been the reason..

With the sea breeze and a traditional feel, Montazah Al Nakheel (Palm Gardens) is one of the most popular out door traditional restaurants in Jeddah City and a beautiful place to take work colleagues or tourists to.

In the run up to Ramadan we were hoping to cover Falafel Express, although it seems their two branches nearest to us have now closed. Those being in Khalediya and Rawdah District.

Saied Restaurant is located just in front of the Gulf Plaza building on Madinah Road, just after King Saud Mosque if you are heading towards Madinah. The interior is much like that of Al Baik inside, with simple chairs and tables for dining, more seating is available upstairs for families,

Abu Zaid Restaurants specialize in Mutabag and Maasoob, both local Saudi Dishes that are a great alternative to the usual Shawurma or Franchised takeaways Jeddah has to offer. Some of the desserts on offer were in the past only served in Ramadan although now they are available all year round.

Their shawurmas are great, but then they arent cheap either on the scale of things, its about 7SR for a Chicken or Meat shawurma, or 9 SR for their Rocket Shawurma (Sarookh) Which is almost 12 inches long! and made with..
