Baskin Robbins has decided to launch a Cafe, a first of its kind for the Middle East, and in Jeddah! The New concept store offers new desserts like fondue, affogato and cakes, all in a family friendly restaurant environment. This no doubt comes in response to the increasing popularity of coffee culture in Jeddah, where desert based drinks are already offered in places like Costa, Starbucks and more recently Coffee Republic. The new cafe also sells drinks to rival these offerings including, cappuccinos, lattes and hot chocolates.

how much i the cake…. hoping for reply asap
I liked the cafe idea! I’ve always been a fan of Baskin Robbins. My fav. flaors are: Paralize n cream: vanilla with caramel ribbon(specially in cakes with chocolate sauce of the edges of the cake only)
Love potion: vanilla with some kind of berry, dark chocolate hearts filled with cherry sauce.
Rainbow: raspberry, lime and orange.
And many more.
I loved the chocolate fondue that comes in a bowl with small tiny scoops to dip.
I visited the cafe last night, and it was a pleasant experience. The menu consists mainly of their take away orders with a few more signature items, which is something I have no problem with. I just wanna sit and enjoy my Ice Cream even if I eat it in a paper cup. The coffee they make come from an automated coffee maker like the one in IKEA where you press your preference and drink is then vended accordingly, but that is ok, after all it is mainly an Ice cream parlor not a coffee shop. Kudos to Baskin-Robbins for a bold move, I am all for a game changing strategy. May be Haagen-Dazs folks can learn a lesson or two.
I have shout out to the cafe manager who was so kind and helpful for all the shop patrons. Comparing him to Haagen-Dazs waiters who can’t care less to what we want is certainly an interesting subject.
I think this is a brilliant move from BR. It was always a problem with BR’s Ice creams and sundaes, you either have to eat them in your car where it can get messy, or you will have to wait till you get home and eat it after it is partially melted. Now they can rival Haagen-Dazs, which will lose its edge soon if it keep itself from branching out its little hole in Red Sea Mall.
I love it
