There are a lot of prestigious restaurants in Jeddah and it is quite hard to specify one particular Restaurant as my favorite. However, there is one Restaurant that I don’t mind going to whenever I get a chance. It is Al-Nawras Movenpick Al-Wadaa. This restaurant is quite special because of its unique location along the corniche. It is a place where you can enjoy a nice family get-together for dinner or lunch. You just feel at ease there. The food is superb and there is just an unlimited variety of dishes to choose from. Moreover, the cuisine there seems to satisfy the different tastes. Al-Wadaa offers both a close air-conditioned seating as well as an outside seating that faces the sea for those people who like to enjoy a nice breeze from the sea. The Ramadan Iftar buffet there is quite incredible.

The interior and exterior decorations during that month just catch your eye. Moreover, the food is presented very nicely. The food is hot and the salads and fruits are fresh. It is quite a challenge to try every kind of food because there is just too many varieties. You can also enjoy a nice evening of shisha and snacks there just to get away from the busy life in mid Jeddah. What is also unique about Al-Wadaa is that it stands out among the adjacent restaurants because of its unique structure that resembles a shell and Al-Wadaa stands for shell in Arabic. It is worthy to also mention that the waiters are friendly and helpful and carry a smile on their face all the time. If you haven’t been there, I would recommend that you do so. It is also worth noting each evening has a different theme for the buffet, Monday is Seafood night buffet, Tuesday to Thursday is an International buffet, Thursday a Breakfast buffet and Friday the Family brunch.

yes, it’s a shisha place rather than dining place, their food is not tasty, enjoy the view, the shisha grape and a drink no more.

Hi khayra, sure they can but the trouble is that there is no truth when it comes to peoples taste, of course most of us can agree when something is really bad (e.g. my cooking) however the gray area is vast: one mans pleasure is another mans poison and all that.

Im just suggesting that those associated with a particular restaurant should declare their position rather than try to use the site, which is designed for honest reviews, as a free advertising platform. If they cant afford to pay for an advertisement they probably cant afford to buy good quality ingredients.

… Wouldn’t anyone just be able to prove the dishonest person wrong by posting the truth?

I think that’s why this place is so cool, anyone can write <3

I have a quick question for you, just imagine that a person was somehow associated with a particular restaurant, say an owner, manager or chief; now imagine that this person writes a review of “his restaurant and then posts the review on a site such as this without declaring his association with the reviewed restaurant.

Would I be wrong to describe such actions as dishonest and devious? And how would this persons actions reflect on the establishment which he reviewed, would I want my food served by such a person, if he is happy to misrepresent himself will he have issues misrepresenting his food?

Surely if a person was tempted to abuse this web site by exploiting it as a free advertising channel he would at least make an effort to make his review sound like a genuine review and not a blatant advertisement; on second thought forget what I said above, nobody can be that stupid.

Naturally Im not implying that any registered users of this website have an undeclared interest in any restaurant which they reviewed, while Im sure the FoodCritic welcomes their input I am certain that the rest of us civilians expect honest reviews and that any association with establishment would be declared.

Just wanted to add my voice to the naysayers. Apart from the view and its closeness to the Nawras resort, there’s little to recommend it. Not bad, just very very mediocre.

So far I only went to have She Sha over there. I never really felt tempted to try their food. Maybe next time I will give it a try…

really!!! is this place that good in your opinion? really!! the view is amazing and the place looks nice but you think that the food is that good? aa_loser might have a point.

I personally don’t share this opinion of the place at all. I have visited the place around 3 times over the last 5 years with the latest being 3 month back. and every time I wonder how is such a great looking place with such a great view is waisted on such mediocre food. the food is not bad. I just would expect more than the standard Lebanese mixed grill that you would get anywhere.
