It may seem like an ordinary Japanese restaurant but you’ll be amazed at almost everything in there.They have combo meals which includes: fried rice, side dish, salad, soup, meat of your choice (I had beef and chicken), green tea and ice cream comes with the combo meal as well. All of that with a price of less than a hundred. I mean four people can actually eat that kind of meal!
I also ordered my favorite shrimp tempura. It comes with carrots and zuchinni which were also deep fried with tempura coating. It’s so tasty that my friend who can’t eat shrimp still appreciated their vegetable tempura. The soy sauce that comes with it is perfect.
Since I don’t eat sushi, I tried one of their famous rolls. I tried the Boston rolls which have avocado, tuna, and other vegetables inside.
The way the chef cooks the meals in front of you is so amusing that you want to capture every moment. I even took out my camera to record the whole cooking session. The part I like most was how the chef beat the egg and flipped the shell right into his pocket. He didn’t miss! The egg shell flew right into his chest pocket! That’s something you can’t miss!

I went with two colleagues the other night (early September) to Benihana, which adjoins the Sands Hotel. It was my first time to a Benihana anywhere in the world; I’d heard that they were not very good in the U.S., so I wasn’t expecting too much. The Benihana here was a pleasant surprise. I had the sushi and sashimi combo dinner, which came with miso soup and a good little salad. The sushi was good and fresh, with generous portions of salmon, tuna, and yellowtale. The service was good. All three of us had mint lemonades, which were excellent. For the price paid (about SAR 100 each), I found Benihana to be a good, tasty option for dinner.
It’s a great place to visit every week !!
